Difficult to reach

Very luxerious place, brilliant dinner, excellent English speaking staff, and the only place in Sicily where we have had soft beds!

Beautiful countryside setting with stunning views of Lipari islands. Impressive cleanliness and well-appointed, comfortable rooms. Fast WiFi throughout the property, even by the pool. Exquisite food in the restaurant. Convenient covered porch for parking. Close to charming town and delightful seaside destination.

It is a beautiful setting and the hotel produces excellent wines from its vinyard which unfortunately are not available in the uk. There are several good walks from the hotel although the maps could be better. The pool is very attractive. A car is essential. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Relax and wine&food

Room access (mant steps) and staff not friendly and not amiable.

The hotel's decor exuded an old-world charm, making me feel like I had stepped back in time. The beautifully furnished common areas provided a cozy ambiance, perfect for relaxing and socializing. The accessibility of the hotel was commendable, with staff always available to assist senior guests like myself.

My only wish for a better vacation for senior people would be for the children working there to provide more support and assistance.

A very nice hotel, 5 Stars absolutly worth. We had two very relaxing days.

Some porposals to make it a 5 Star ++ A dinner restaurant outside with a view over the mountains would make this hotel perfect. The breakfast could offer a wider selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and some more organic cereals. The breakfast place outside is nice but could offer more scenic views. Just cut the bushes.

Lovely spacious room in a beautiful setting. Comfortable grounds including pool. Nice on-site restaurant.

The wine tasting was a unique experience, but who needs nature and history when you can have delicious club sandwiches by the pool?

Oh, and let's not forget the tight shower cabinet. Nothing like feeling claustrophobic while trying to clean myself.

good food, helpfull staff, serenity

Staying at the Relais Santa Anastasia was a wonderful experience. Magnificent views of mountains and ocean; excellent architectural and designer restoration of a historic thousand year old building; quality workmenship of rooms and buildings; large swimming pool overlooking mountain valley and ocean beyond; excellent restaurant; scenic location among olive groves and vineyards; absolute tranquility.

We liked the entire facility.

relais abbazia santa anastasia resort & winery in castelbuono was an exceptional stay. the converted monastery with vineyard and oil production had stunning views, a fantastic pool, and a delicious sicilian menu. the staff were welcoming, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Good location with great views out towards the sea. Very quiet, and the room was clean with a comfy bed. Good breakfast with a decent amount of local produce! Friendly staff.

The rooms are all very dark - to be expected perhaps at an old monastery but the use of lots of 'traditional' dark fabrics didn't help. The first room we were shown smelt strongly of stale smoke, but we were moved upon request to a better room.The hotel itself is reasonably attractive, but there are a lot of ugly outbuildings that slightly spoil the feel - also the grounds could do with tidying up. It felt rather like the place had been forgotten about for some time. Other minor annoyances - water pressure in the bathroom was rather low, and we could hear a lot of noise from the reception area late at night that kept us awake (I believe it was staff, not other guests). And as others have mentioned, the towels and bath linen is pretty cheap! Oh, and the driveway from the main road has the most awful speedbumps - if I hadn't have been in a rental car I'd have been a bit worried about my suspension! Overall the hotel isn't bad, but is hard to recommend at the price.
